Sustainability in my neighborhood

In my local neighborhood it’s diverse into African American and Hispanics families. I don’t live in the projects I live in an area with houses mainly. Even though I don’t live in the projects my neighborhood’s sustainability isn’t the best because every morning I wake up to trash on the trees and sidewalks. Which sucks because it Alway’s happens at night that people throw trash into the streets and trees. I always must pick up the trash, so my parents don’t get a ticket. But everywhere else I go the other neighbors don’t clean the trash in front of their houses. I mean every Tuesday and Friday I see everyone take out their trash. But when the trash in the streets comes, they don’t tend to care to pick it up. For example, this morning I found a Mcdonald’s bag and Wingstop bag in the trees at my house. Yes, it is on my property, it’s my responsibility to pick it up, but also at the same time I see cups, bags and empty containers across the street where my neighbor lives, and they just keep it there. So, when it comes to the sustainability within the neighborhood it isn’t the best since no one seems to care to pick it up trash. What people in the neighborhood can do collectively can do is clean on a daily basis and not let it get bad. With everyone cleaning daily it would keep the streets and trees clean.

Sustainability of NYC

Sustainability in New York City isn’t the best in my opinion because from the two borrows I’ve commuted from which is the Bronx and Manhattan, it hasn’t been maintained well. Train Stations filled with trash and rats on the tracks. Abandon locations throughout the areas. With a google search they settled with a goal to reduce gas emissions by 80% by 2050. 2050 is 27 years away in that much time so many buildings and structures can change not only that the environment can change too with that time. We don’t know if it will remain the same or even get worse. Also, it said in the google search it would require that the city power, transportation, waste reduction will have to have significant shifts if they want to reach their goal. In my opinion they can reach this goal yes but personally I don’t think they can reach it by 2050 because not a lot of people clean up after themselves which causes problems to the environment and if people can’t contribute to in keeping a healthy sustainability, how can NYC expect to reach a goal by 2050. What people need to do is help keep NYC clean and help keep a healthy sustainability so that we can reach the goal sooner than later.

Sustainability reflection

I think sustainability means to help keep the world from shutting down on us, what I mean by that is, so we help maintain a living status so that we don’t become homeless Etc. What I think can help promote a healthy sustainability is help reduce littering, pollution and waste exposure. I don’t play huge role but daily I clean the trees and streets at my house, so the area doesn’t get too dirty.
